He was born in 1961 in Brcko, where he completed elementary school. He finished high school in Sarajevo, and title of graduated ecomists obtained in Belgrade.
Prior to the war, he also performed significant political functions at the Brcko municipality. He has performed duties of member of the Assembly of the Brcko Municipality in two terms. Since 1991 he has also been the founder and owner of a private trading company in Brcko, and was also a Chairman of the Management Board of the State Enterprise UNIS Republika Srpska.
He was elected as member of the National Assembly in seven terms and served as President of the Multiple Committees at the National Assembly. In his two terms, from 1997 to 2000, he served as President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska. The duty of the Minister of Labor and Veterans-Invalids Protection in the Republika Srpska was elected for two terms. He is minister of industry, energy and mining.
He is father of one child and lives in Brcko.
