The HK Prize – The Future of Science and Technology

In accordance with scientific and rigorous standards, the operation of HK SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION PRIZE will be performed professionally, objectively, and fairly. An independent review procedure has been formulated to ensure the integrity of the review process. It is also stipulated that no organization or individual can exert undue influence on the review results.

Hong Kong will offer a record prize fund of nearly HK$90 million to encourage more talented youngsters to pursue research in science and technology. The award will be presented in three waves: Southeast Asian residents first; then, mainland Chinese and international applicants. The application will open on March 1.

The 2023 Future Science Prize was awarded to eight scientists from around the world, spanning life and physical sciences. This year’s edition saw the highest number of shortlistees and the broadest age range in its history. The winners are a group of young people with special needs who have demonstrated extraordinary talent and perseverance in the field of science. Their work has changed the lives of their parents and siblings, and even the entire community.

BOCHK SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY innovatio PRIZE, hosted by Hong Kong Alliance of Technology and Innovation and sponsored by Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited, is a non-governmental merit-based award for rewarding scientific and technological innovation or research achievements of outstanding scientists and research teams in Hong Kong or universities, industry-education-research bases and institutes set up by Hong Kong higher education institutions and located in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area for their significant innovations and transformation. It aims to inspire more talents in research and to further strengthen the local scientific and technological development. It is a platform for the exchange of ideas and the promotion of innovative science and technology.
